Terms and Conditions

S LINE TRAVEL LTD
BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
Effective from: 11/08/2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings made with S Line Travel Ltd (“S Line Travel”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

We provide two main types of booking: S Line Explore – where individuals purchase one or more seats on a scheduled trip organised and advertised by S Line Travel and travel alongside other customers.

Private Hire / Group Bookings – where a customer hires a vehicle and driver for their own private group, organisation, business, school or other party. Certain terms apply to all bookings, while others apply specifically to S Line Explore or Private Hire. Where a term applies only to one type of booking, this is clearly stated.

By making a booking, paying a deposit or balance, purchasing an Explore ticket or otherwise confirming a booking with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

PART 1 – TERMS APPLYING TO ALL BOOKINGS

  1. Making a Booking
  • A booking may be made online, by telephone, email or through another booking method approved by S Line Travel.
  • A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted it and issued confirmation or, in the case of S Line Explore, once the booking has been successfully completed and confirmation issued.
  • Customers are responsible for checking their booking confirmation and notifying us as soon as possible if any details are incorrect.
  • The person making the booking must be aged 18 or over and is responsible for ensuring that all relevant passengers are made aware of these Terms & Conditions.
  1. Prices
  • All prices will be confirmed at the time of booking.
  • The price includes only the services specifically stated within the booking confirmation.
  • Additional services, entrance tickets, accommodation, ferry or tunnel crossings, parking, tolls, meals or other third-party costs are only included where specifically stated.
  • Where a booking is changed at the customer’s request, additional charges may apply.
  1. Vehicles
  • We will make reasonable efforts to provide the vehicle type or specification stated on the booking.
  • However, operational circumstances may occasionally require us to substitute a vehicle.
  • We reserve the right to provide:

a larger vehicle; a vehicle with a different seating configuration; more than one vehicle; or a suitable vehicle operated by another appropriately licensed and insured operator.

  • Any replacement will, wherever reasonably possible, provide sufficient capacity and be suitable for the journey.
  • A particular vehicle registration, make, model, age, colour or specification is not guaranteed unless expressly agreed by us in writing.
  1. Seating Capacity
  • Passengers must not exceed the legal carrying capacity of the vehicle.
  • All passengers must occupy an appropriate passenger seat where required and must comply with applicable seat belt legislation.
  • The driver has final responsibility for determining whether the vehicle can safely and legally carry passengers, luggage, wheelchairs, mobility equipment and other items presented for carriage.
  1. Accessibility and Disabled Passengers
  • S Line Travel is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive service.
  • Customers should tell us about any accessibility requirements when booking or as early as reasonably possible before travel. This includes wheelchair spaces, mobility equipment or other assistance that may reasonably be required.
  • Wheelchair spaces and accessible vehicle capacity may be limited and must therefore be confirmed in advance.
  • Recognised assistance dogs are permitted in accordance with applicable law.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individual requirements but cannot guarantee facilities or assistance that have not been requested in advance or that cannot safely or legally be provided by the vehicle concerned.
  1. Luggage and Personal Property
  • Luggage is carried subject to available space and safety requirements.
  • Passengers must not bring items that are dangerous, illegal, excessively large or likely to cause injury, obstruction or damage.
  • The driver may refuse any item which cannot safely be carried.
  • Passengers remain responsible for their personal belongings throughout the journey and should not leave valuables unattended.
  • S Line Travel will take reasonable care of passengers’ property but will not be responsible for loss or damage unless caused by our negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.
  • Passengers should ensure that particularly valuable items are appropriately insured.
  1. Lost Property
  • Any property found on our vehicles will be handled in accordance with our lost property procedures and applicable legislation.
  • Customers should contact S Line Travel as soon as possible after discovering an item is missing.
  • We may charge reasonable postage, packaging, courier or other costs for returning lost property.
  • Items will only be retained for the period required by applicable legislation or our lost property policy, after which they may be disposed of.
  1. Passenger Conduct
  • Passengers must behave in a reasonable manner and must not:

distract or interfere with the driver; behave in a threatening, abusive or discriminatory manner; cause a nuisance to other passengers or members of the public; damage or excessively soil the vehicle; smoke or vape on board; carry illegal or dangerous substances or items; consume alcohol where prohibited by law or by S Line Travel; or behave in any way that could compromise the safety of the vehicle or its passengers.

  • The driver is responsible for the safety of the vehicle and passengers and has authority to take reasonable action where passenger behaviour presents a safety or operational concern.
  • A passenger may be refused travel or required to leave the vehicle where their behaviour is unsafe, unlawful, abusive or seriously disruptive.
  • No refund will normally be given where travel is refused or terminated because of the passenger’s own behaviour.
  • The person responsible for a Private Hire booking may also be charged for damage, excessive cleaning or other reasonable costs caused by members of their group.
  1. Food and Drink
  • Food and drink may only be consumed where permitted by S Line Travel.
  • Passengers must take reasonable care to keep vehicles clean.
  • Alcohol may only be carried or consumed where permitted by law and expressly permitted by S Line Travel.
  • Restrictions may apply to journeys to certain sporting events and other destinations.
  1. Smoking and Vaping
  • Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on all S Line Travel vehicles.
  1. Animals
  • Animals are not normally permitted unless agreed with us in advance.
  • This restriction does not apply to recognised assistance dogs where they are entitled to travel under applicable law.
  1. Journey Times, Traffic and Delays
  • Journey and arrival times are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including: traffic congestion; road closures; accidents; weather; security incidents; events; passenger delays; diversions; border controls; ferry or tunnel disruption; and other operational circumstances.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to operate journeys as planned but cannot guarantee arrival times.
  • Customers should allow appropriate additional time where they have onward flights, trains, ferries, events, appointments or other time-sensitive arrangements.
  • Nothing within these Terms excludes any liability which cannot legally be excluded.
  1. Breakdown or Operational Disruption
  • Vehicles are maintained in accordance with applicable legal and operational requirements.
  • Nevertheless, breakdowns and unforeseen mechanical or operational problems can occur.
  • Where reasonably possible, we will attempt to provide a replacement vehicle or make alternative arrangements.
  • S Line Travel will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control except where the law provides otherwise.
  1. Safety
  • Passengers must follow reasonable safety instructions given by the driver or S Line Travel staff.
  • Seat belts must be worn where required by law.
  • Passengers should remain seated while the vehicle is moving wherever possible and must not obstruct aisles, doors or emergency exits.
  • Luggage must be safely stored.
  • The driver’s decision on matters affecting the immediate safety or legal operation of the vehicle is final.

PART 2 – S LINE EXPLORE

  1. What is S Line Explore?
  • S Line Explore allows customers to purchase individual seats on scheduled leisure and day trips organised by S Line Travel.
  • Unlike Private Hire, the vehicle is shared with other customers who have independently booked seats on the same trip.
  • By purchasing an Explore ticket, customers acknowledge that they will be travelling with other members of the public.
  1. Explore Prices and Tickets
  • The price displayed when booking is the price payable for the number of passengers selected.
  • The booking confirmation will state what is included.
  • Depending on the trip, this may include: return coach travel; admission to an attraction; event tickets; or other specifically advertised services.
  • Anything not expressly stated as included is the customer’s responsibility.
  1. Explore Passenger Details
  • Customers must provide accurate passenger and contact information where requested.
  • Where tickets or admission have been issued using passenger names, changes may be subject to the rules and charges imposed by the relevant attraction or third-party supplier.
  1. Explore Cancellation by the Customer
  • If you wish to cancel an S Line Explore booking, you must notify us as soon as possible.
  • Unless different cancellation terms were clearly stated for a particular trip before booking, the following cancellation charges will apply:

28 days or more before departure:
10% cancellation charge – 90% refund.
15–27 days before departure:
25% cancellation charge – 75% refund.
 8–14 days before departure:
50% cancellation charge – 50% refund.
7 days or less before departure:
100% cancellation charge – no refund.

Failure to travel / no-show:

100% cancellation charge – no refund.

The relevant date is the date on which S Line Travel receives the cancellation request.

  • Where we have already purchased a non-refundable ticket, admission, reservation or other third-party service specifically for the customer, its cost may also be non-refundable. We will make this clear where applicable.
  • Refunds will normally be returned using the original payment method.
  • Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
  1. Transferring an Explore Booking
  • Where possible, we may allow an Explore booking to be transferred to another passenger.
  • Requests must be made before departure and are subject to any restrictions imposed by attractions, event organisers or other suppliers.
  • An administration charge and/or any third-party cost may apply.
  • Where admission tickets are personalised or non-transferable, it may not be possible to change the passenger.
  1. Explore Amendments
  • A customer wishing to move an Explore booking to another available trip should contact us.
  • Changes are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
  • Any difference in price and any non-refundable third-party costs must be paid by the customer.
  1. Departure Times and No-Shows
  • Customers are responsible for arriving at the advertised departure point in sufficient time.
  • We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the stated departure time, unless advised otherwise.
  • The vehicle cannot normally wait for late passengers because this may inconvenience other customers and affect driving hours or attraction schedules.
  • If a passenger misses the departure, no refund will be payable and S Line Travel will not be responsible for alternative travel costs.
  • The same applies to the advertised return departure from the destination.
  • Passengers are responsible for ensuring they return to the vehicle at the stated time.
  1. Children and Young People
  • Any age restrictions applicable to a particular Explore trip will be stated during booking where relevant.
  • Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • The accompanying adult remains responsible for the child’s supervision and behaviour throughout the journey and visit.
  • Child seats are not provided.
  1. Minimum Numbers
  • Some S Line Explore trips require a minimum number of passengers to operate.
  • If minimum numbers are not achieved, we reserve the right to cancel the trip.
  • Where S Line Travel cancels an Explore trip, customers will be offered either:

A full refund of monies paid to S Line Travel for the cancelled trip; or where available and acceptable to the customer, the option to transfer the value to another S Line Explore trip.

  • We will endeavour to give as much notice as reasonably possible.
  1. Changes to an Explore Trip
  • Occasionally it may be necessary to alter: departure times; pick-up locations; vehicles; routes; itinerary details; or other arrangements.
  • Where a significant change is made before departure, we will notify affected customers using the contact details provided with their booking.
  • Minor operational changes will not normally give rise to a right to cancel or receive a refund.
  • Where we make a material change which substantially alters the nature of the trip, we will provide an appropriate remedy having regard to the circumstances and the customer’s applicable statutory rights.
  1. Attractions, Events and Third-Party Suppliers
  • Where an Explore trip includes admission to an attraction, event or other service operated by a third party, customers must comply with that supplier’s rules.
  • Opening times, rides, facilities, attractions and events may be changed, restricted or withdrawn by the relevant operator.
  • S Line Travel does not control the operation of third-party attractions or venues.
  • Where a significant third-party change affects the trip, we will deal with the matter reasonably and in accordance with any applicable legal obligations.
  1. The Hirer
  • The person, company, organisation or group making a Private Hire booking is referred to as the Hirer.
  • The Hirer is responsible for the booking and for communicating relevant information and these Terms & Conditions to passengers travelling as part of their group.
  • Where the Hirer will not be travelling, they must nominate a responsible representative where requested. Unless otherwise agreed, we will only accept instructions or material booking changes from the Hirer or their authorised representative.
  1. Private Hire Quotations
  • Quotations are based upon the information supplied to us at the time of enquiry, including: dates; times; passenger numbers; pick-up and drop-off locations; destination; itinerary; vehicle requirements; and any additional services requested.
  • Unless stated otherwise, quotations are valid for 7 days and remain subject to vehicle availability until the booking is confirmed.
  • A quotation does not reserve a vehicle unless expressly stated.
  1. What the Private Hire Price Includes
  • Unless otherwise stated, a Private Hire quotation is for the agreed vehicle, driver and itinerary only.
  • Parking, tolls, ferries, accommodation, driver expenses, admission tickets, additional mileage or other costs are only included where expressly stated.
  1. Deposits and Payment
  • Any deposit must be paid by the date stated on the quotation, invoice or booking confirmation.
  • Unless we have agreed credit terms or alternative payment arrangements in writing, the full balance must be paid 28 days prior to the date of travel or immediately upon receipt of invoice if date of travel is within 28 days of booking.
  • Failure to pay on time may result in the booking being cancelled and cancellation charges becoming payable.
  • For approved business customers operating on credit terms, payment must be made in accordance with the agreed credit terms.
  • We reserve the right to charge applicable statutory interest and recovery costs on all overdue debts where permitted by law.
  1. Private Hire Cancellation by the Hirer
  • If the Hirer cancels a confirmed booking, cancellation charges will be calculated against the total agreed hire charge as follows:
28 days or more before departure:
10% of the total hire charge or £50 (Whichever is greater)
15–27 days before departure:
50% of the total hire charge.
8–14 days before departure:
75% of the total hire charge.
7 days or less before departure:
100% of the total hire charge.
On the day / after the vehicle has been dispatched:
100% of the total hire charge.

Where the cancellation charge is less than any non-refundable costs already reasonably incurred by S Line Travel specifically for the booking, those costs may also be payable where legally permitted.

Examples include:

  • ferry or tunnel reservations; accommodation; attraction or event tickets;

permits; parking reservations; and other services purchased specifically for the booking.

  • Cancellation because of adverse weather, a change in the Hirer’s circumstances or a reduction in passenger numbers does not automatically remove the cancellation charge.
  1. Changes to Private Hire Bookings
  • Any requested change to: dates; times; passenger numbers; pick-up points; destinations; routes; vehicle requirements; or itinerary must be agreed by S Line Travel.
  • Changes may result in a revised price.
  • Even relatively small changes can create significant additional costs where they affect drivers’ hours, mileage, vehicle availability or require an additional vehicle or driver.
  • We will advise the Hirer of material additional charges wherever reasonably practicable.
  1. Route
  • Unless a specific route has been agreed as an essential part of the booking, the route taken will be determined by S Line Travel and/or the driver having regard to safety, road conditions, traffic and operational requirements.
  • The driver may alter the route where reasonably necessary.
  1. Additional Time and Mileage
  • The agreed price is based upon the itinerary confirmed at the time of booking.
  • Additional mileage, waiting time, additional stops or extended hire time requested by the Hirer will result in additional charges.
  • Where a customer-requested change requires another driver or vehicle to maintain legal compliance, the reasonable additional cost may be charged to the Hirer.
  1. Drivers’ Hours
  • Drivers’ working and driving hours are regulated by law.
  • The Hirer must not request or cause a journey to be operated in a manner that would require a driver to breach applicable drivers’ hours, working time or safety regulations.
  • The driver’s decision on legal driving and rest requirements is final.
  • Where a change requested or caused by the Hirer requires an additional driver, vehicle or overnight arrangement, the resulting reasonable costs will be charged to the Hirer.
  1. Use of the Vehicle Between Journeys
  • The Hirer must not assume that the vehicle will remain available between outward and return journeys unless this has been specifically agreed.
  • The vehicle may undertake other work between the agreed drop-off and collection times.
  1. Passenger Numbers
  • The Hirer must provide accurate passenger numbers and must inform us of any material changes.
  • Passenger numbers must never exceed the legal capacity of the vehicle.
  • Where numbers increase, a larger or additional vehicle may be required and additional charges will apply.
  1. Damage and Cleaning
  • The Hirer is responsible for reasonable costs resulting from deliberate or negligent damage caused to the vehicle by members of their group.
  • Where excessive cleaning is required because of passenger behaviour, sickness, food, drink or other contamination beyond normal use, a reasonable cleaning charge may be made.
  • We will provide details of significant charges where requested.
  1. Delays Caused by the Hirer or Passengers
  • Vehicles will depart at the agreed times.
  • The Hirer is responsible for ensuring passengers are present and ready to travel.
  • S Line Travel will not be responsible for passengers who miss the vehicle because they failed to arrive at the agreed departure time.
  • Where passenger delays materially extend the hire, additional charges will apply and the journey may need to be amended to comply with drivers’ hours legislation.

PART 4 – CANCELLATION AND EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL

  1. Cancellation by S Line Travel
  • We will always make reasonable efforts to fulfil confirmed bookings.
  • However, we may cancel or materially alter a service where it becomes impossible, unsafe or unlawful to operate because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we may offer an alternative vehicle, alternative date, replacement service, credit or refund.
  • Where S Line Travel cancels a service for reasons within our reasonable control and no suitable alternative is provided, monies paid to us for the cancelled service will normally be refunded.
  • Nothing in these Terms restricts rights customers may have under applicable law.
  1. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
  • We will not be responsible for failure or delay in performing our obligations where this results from events outside our reasonable control.
  • These may include severe weather, flooding, road closures, major traffic incidents, civil emergencies, strikes, industrial action, security incidents, government restrictions, border closures, widespread transport disruption or similar events.
  • We will nevertheless take reasonable steps to minimise disruption where practicable.

PART 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

  1. Third-Party Services
  • Where we arrange services provided by another supplier, such as: attraction admission; accommodation; ferry crossings; tunnel crossings; meals; event tickets; or other travel-related services, the relevant supplier’s terms may also apply.
  • We will make relevant restrictions known where reasonably practicable.
  • Customers remain responsible for complying with the rules of attractions, venues and other third-party suppliers.
  1. Package Travel
  • Some combinations of travel services may be subject to additional consumer protections under applicable UK package travel legislation.
  • Whether those rules apply will depend on the particular services being offered and the circumstances in which they are sold.
  • Where S Line Travel offers a trip or arrangement which is subject to additional statutory requirements, the applicable information and protections will be provided.
  • Nothing within these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict rights which customers have under applicable package travel or consumer legislation.
  1. Liability
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited.
  • Subject to those rights, S Line Travel will not be responsible for losses which were not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made or which arise from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
  • For business and commercial Private Hire customers, S Line Travel will not be responsible for indirect or consequential business losses, including loss of profit, revenue, contracts or opportunity, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
  • Nothing in these Terms affects a consumer’s statutory rights.
  1. Complaints
  • If a problem occurs during your journey, please raise it with the driver or contact S Line Travel as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve it.
  • If the issue cannot be resolved at the time, complaints should be submitted to us in writing, preferably within 14 days of travel.
  • Please include: your booking reference; date of travel; details of the issue; and any supporting information. We will acknowledge and investigate complaints as quickly as reasonably possible.
  1. Customer Contact Details
  • Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information.
  • We may use the telephone number or email address provided with the booking to communicate important information concerning the journey, including changes to departure times or locations.
  • Customers should ensure they can access these communications before travelling.
  1. Personal Information
  • Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.
  • Information may be shared with drivers, operational staff and relevant suppliers where reasonably necessary to fulfil the booking.
  1. Photographs and Marketing
  • S Line Travel may take general photographs or video in connection with certain trips, events or promotional activities.
  • Where identifiable individuals are to be used for marketing purposes, appropriate consent will be obtained where required.
  • Customers may notify us if they have particular concerns about photography.
  1. Notices and Advertising on Vehicles
  • No poster, banner, sign, advertisement or other material may be attached to or displayed on a S Line Travel vehicle without our prior permission.
  1. Entire Agreement
  • The booking confirmation, quotation where applicable, these Terms & Conditions and any additional terms specifically agreed in writing form the agreement between S Line Travel and the customer.
  • If specific written terms relating to a particular booking conflict with these general Terms, the specifically agreed terms will take precedence to the extent of that conflict.
  1. Severability
  • If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
  1. Changes to These Terms
  • We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
  • The terms applying to a booking will normally be those in force when the booking is made, unless a change is required by law or agreed with the customer.
  1. Governing Law
  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • Consumers retain any mandatory rights regarding jurisdiction which apply to them under law.
