Seven fully funded Blackburn community day trips for local groups
Our Blackburn community day trips gave seven local groups fully funded summer experiences, with coach travel, attraction entry and packed lunches included.
Community support in Blackburn was about more than simply giving back. It was about creating opportunities, bringing people together and helping local organisations provide experiences that might otherwise have been difficult to arrange.
At S-Line Travel, we have always believed that a coach journey could be much more than travelling from one place to another. It could be the beginning of a new experience, a shared adventure and a memory that lasted long after the journey home.
As a family run coach company based in Blackburn, Lancashire, we were proud to launch our Community Day Trip Initiative 2026. These Blackburn community day trips supported groups from across Blackburn and Darwen throughout the summer holidays.
Working alongside generous local businesses and organisations, we provided executive coach travel, attraction entry and packed lunches at no cost to the groups taking part.
What started as six sponsored trips grew to seven trips across the six week summer holidays, following an incredible community response and the addition of a bonus trip.
Supporting communities across Blackburn and Darwen
Blackburn and Darwen is home to outstanding organisations that worked tirelessly to support children, young people, families and vulnerable members of the community. These groups often operated with limited budgets, which made recreational activities and days out difficult to arrange.
Our initiative removed those financial barriers by providing complete, fully funded experiences for local organisations, including:
- Youth organisations and Scout groups
- Support and disability services
- Faith-based organisations
- Family and community centres
Our aim was simple: To help local groups create meaningful experiences and lasting memories for the people they supported.

- Return executive coach travel with S-Line Travel
- Attraction entry tickets
- Packed lunches and sandwiches
- Journey planning and transport coordination
- Capacity for up to 50 passengers to enjoy the experience together
Our team managed the transport, journey planning and operational logistics, allowing each community group to focus on enjoying the day.
Packed lunches provided by Express Cuisine

More than executive coach hire in Blackburn
Throughout the initiative, S-Line Travel drew on its experience providing coach hire in Blackburn and minibus transport for private groups, schools, businesses, events and contracted services. Our role in the community extended beyond providing vehicles.
We believed local businesses should actively support the areas in which they operated. The Community Day Trip Initiative allowed us to use our fleet, experience and transport expertise to create opportunities for local people. It also demonstrated what could be achieved when transport operators, professional services, local businesses and community organisations worked together.
Thanking our sponsors and partners
We thank every sponsor, partner, community organiser and volunteer involved in making the programme possible. Their support helped hundreds of people across Blackburn and Darwen enjoy experiences that might otherwise have been out of reach.
Get involved with future community initiatives
We hope to continue developing our Blackburn community day trips and support more organisations in the future. Local businesses interested in sponsoring future community projects are encouraged to contact us. Charities, youth organisations, support services and community groups can also register their interest.
